The German Department’s performance is an adaptation of the play Leading Ladies, written by the American playwright Ken Ludwig, winner of the Laurence Oliver Award – the most important distinction in the English theatre. The author’s portfolio includes works commissioned by Royal Shakespeare Company, as well as three Tony Awards nominations.
The Sibiu production is an accurate representation of the original text, the story of two actors - Leo Clark and Jack Gable, willing to pose as the nieces of an old lady, in order to obtain part of her fortune. The scenery is built through a comedy of situation, presenting hilarious sequences of amorous complications.
