“The matter of love breaking the shackles of prejudice is not consumed with the scene of the geranium in the window, it is actually enriched by the mature creation of the author of Take, Ianke and Cadâr. This time the theme is not presented just from a moral and emotional point of view, but it closely connects to one of the current political issues, an issue largely meaningful during the development of the Second World War, namely that of national diversion. However, the three faithful friends cannot let go of the heritage of traditionalism. They need to be shocked by a serious event in order to give up their decision, as they helplessly accept the situation and secretly... they are actually happy. Incredibly simple, the author seems to be saying: the walls put up between nationalities could be overcome, if people would give way to their true feelings and would not blindly conform to canons that are inhumane, irrational.” (Sanda Radian)
