The performance “The Dream Weaver – A Christmas Tale 2” is a story the action of which takes place on Christmas Eve. The subject is simple, clean, full of emotion, tenderness, surprising encounters and happy endings.
As beautiful as the plot of the play is the story of the making of this performance. Mention must be made from the beginning that the text was written by Alex Curta and Florin Coșuleț (the author of these lines) and that it encompasses three main coordinates. Carolling! This priceless heritage of the European space and the people who inhabit it is the basis of our theatrical approach. The carol, this unbroken red thread of the Romanian nation, spun and woven in the course of over 2000 years, is, beyond the shadow of a doubt, a cultural element of UNESCO heritage, it is, if you wish, an authentic and profound part of our contribution to universal culture. A rare approach in the exercise of the profession considering that theatrical characters are largely fictitious.
Youth! This human state so full of sap, this “crude green” of our existence is the second coordinate that fulfils, along with the carol, a basic but also a transitory function of the performance.
Entire generations of student-actors of the Department of Theatre Arts at the “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu have contributed to the assumption, enrichment and transmission of this theatrical meeting, a fact that led Constantin Chiriac, the director of the “Radu Stanca” National Theatre of Sibiu, to include it in the “patrimony” of the TNRS repertoire.
Encounter! In a world full of barriers, this need for genuine Encounter is vital. It brings together artists and audiences, generations of students and actors, carols, stories and Encounters with us and with the others!
“The Dream Weaver” in its new revised and enriched version is a warm cry of joy, an invitation to participate vividly in an endeavour that aims to go beyond the customs of the theatrical act and, above all, to take part in an exercise of sincerity, by means of carolling.

Merry Christmas!
