"Constantin Chiriac Awards" are now in their 10th edition

The 10th edition of the "Constantin Chiriac Awards", eagerly awaited by the students at the Secondary School and the whole community of Prisăcani, will take place on September 19 in the native village of Constantin Chiriac, the general manager of the "Radu Stanca" National Theatre in Sibiu and president of the Sibiu International Theatre Festival. Constantin Chiriac initiated this competition through which students are recognized for their intellectual and spiritual qualities in order to involve them in the destiny of the community.
"The students will finish middle school and every time, my battle has been that everyone who receives the award goes on to high school and after high school, makes it to college. In the ten years since I started these awards, we already have students in the UK and the US at major universities among the winners. Four years ago, we set up the "Future of Prisăcani" Association, where all the students who have received awards over the years are members and with whom we plan projects for the good of the community", said Constantin Chiriac.
Students from Prisăcani who submitted essays for the contest will receive substantial prizes. "From one edition to the next the financial possibilities of the project have increased, thanks to the project partners and the needs of the children, which we identify on the spot. The prizes are cash, but all participants receive a tablet, a backpack, t-shirts, sweets, and other gifts. Given the fact that there are many social problems and single-parent families or families with both parents away at work, each time we try to find solutions to help these talented children", said Constantin Chiriac.
The awards are supported by Constantin Chiriac, Gilda Lazăr, Dent Estet, MedLife, Daniela Jula, Minister of Culture - Raluca Turcan, Senator Lucian Romașcanu - former Minister of Culture, Celestin Constantin, Constantin Chirilă.
At this year's edition, students were challenged to answer a series of questions and give their opinion on certain topics:
1.     You will be 14 this year, you will have an identity card. Assess your life and activities: in school and in competitions, in your family and in your private life.
2.     What does friendship mean to you - in your family, at school, in life and society, in relation to people of all ages, animals and nature.
