Constantin Chiriac, special guest of the Madrigal Choir at the Extraordinary Easter Concert

The "Madrigal - Marin Constantin" National Chamber Choir, conducted by Anna Ungureanu, has as a special guest Mr. Constantin Chiriac, a prominent cultural figure, as part of the Extraordinary Easter Concert. Constantin Chiriac is the president of the Sibiu International Theatre Festival and the general director of the "Radu Stanca" National Theatre in Sibiu.

The first event took place on Thursday, April 11, at the Patriarchal Palace in Bucharest, and the following concerts are scheduled for April 19 at the "Holy Trinity" Greek-Catholic Cathedral in Blaj, April 20 at St. Michael's Church in Cluj-Napoca, and April 26 at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Sibiu.

Poetry and Music: A Fusion of Art

"Poetry is a word beyond words. When spoken, it becomes music beyond sounds. The meeting between Constantin Chiriac and the Madrigal Choir is extraordinary because it brings together values under the noble sign of trust in the power of art. In a world increasingly burdened by materialism, we all need such wings that music and poetry offer us as a gift for the soul. A unique evening in a blessed place for chosen spectators. An act of authentic culture. Verse and song are fulfilled by what no one and nothing could ever erase from humanity's memory: the beauty of moments of grace converted into memories of the spirit," says theater professor and critic Octavian Saiu.

The Extraordinary Easter Concert is an event dedicated to the fundamental celebration of Christians, inviting spectators to introspection and rediscovery of universal meanings. Designed to highlight through music and dramatic art the symbolism of the Savior's Resurrection, the event builds a sonic story about essential times of humanity, a dramatically amplified history through the texts brought to the audience by actor Constantin Chiriac, the founder of the Sibiu International Theatre Festival. The concert program includes sacred musical works from Romanian and international repertoires, uniquely interpreted by the Madrigal Choir, conducted by Anna Ungureanu. The concert's concept is created by Emil Pantelimon, sound direction by Gabriel Scîrlet, scenography by Vladimir Turturica, and video projections by Dorin Popovici.
