The students of the Gymnasium School in Prisăcani and the entire local community are joyfully preparing to celebrate the 11th edition of the “Constantin Chiriac Awards.” The event takes place in the native village of Constantin Chiriac, General Manager of the “Radu Stanca” National Theatre in Sibiu and President of the Sibiu International Theatre Festival, who initiated this competition in order to recognize and highlight both the intellectual and spiritual qualities of young people.
At this edition, students from Prisăcani who took part in the essay contest will be rewarded with significant prizes, meant to encourage their involvement in the life of the community.
On the occasion of the awards ceremony, the volume The “Constantin Chiriac” Awards. Anthology of Works by the Students of the General School of Prisăcani Commune 2021–2024 will also be launched.
“I want to thank all those who have accompanied me in this beautiful journey: the school of Prisăcani village and commune, the students, teachers and class tutors, the headmistress – all those who assume the responsibility for educating the young generation. I thank everyone who has understood how important it is to take care of children! I thank the partners and sponsors! I thank Mrs. Gilda Lazăr and JTI for an exemplary involvement! Mr. Celestin Constantin, who has been participating since the beginning in this endeavor so important for the young people who need support! I thank Constantin Chirilă, with whom I founded the Viitorul Prisăcani Association, which gathers all those who have received awards, all the partners, all those who have understood that young people mean future and hope! I thank Florin and Dana Jula, my niece and nephew from my sister Nușa Elena, who get involved year after year in the continuity of these awards! I thank Polisano MedLife Clinic and MedLife, the entire Dentestet team! I thank Mrs. Fevronia Taniușa Chiriac, who accompanies me every year in this initiatory journey we take with so much joy! I thank all those whose names I have not mentioned, but who have contributed and understood how important this mission is: to help young people!
‘THANK YOU’ was the theme of the 2025 Sibiu International Theatre Festival, and the questions I asked this year to the 35 eighth-grade students had as their central pillar the need to relate to what is perennial in the life of a community: respect, love, involvement, understanding, mutual help, and the joy of existing together,” writes Constantin Chiriac in the foreword of the book published by PIM Publishing House.
At this year’s edition, the students were invited to answer a series of questions and to share their views on several topics:
To whom would you like to say THANK YOU? In what way and why? – e.g.: to the earth, the sun, the water, the sky, the stars, life, parents, siblings, classmates – which ones?, teachers, yourselves, grandparents, someone you never dared to thank, even to your enemies, etc.
How do you get to know each part of your body? How does it work? What about your mind? Your soul – how do you imagine it?
Where do you think the center of gravity of your body is? Where does each of you feel it is located?
