The Radu Stanca National Theatre Sibiu, together with the ASTRA Sibiu County Library, celebrates National Reading Day—marked each year on February 15—through a series of readings in Sibiu and several localities across the county, throughout the entire week. TNRS actors will offer the public interactive readings from major Romanian and international authors in schools and high schools in Sibiu, Mediaș, Agnita, Iacobeni, Cisnădie, Avrig, Tălmaciu, and Biertan.
“Reading Day should be celebrated every day, and what we want for the audience that the Radu Stanca National Theatre Sibiu and the Sibiu International Theatre Festival have cultivated over time is a form of health, joy, emotion, and daily existence in the name of discovering beauty—of reading, joy, emotion—a connection with the miracle of artistic creation.
Because of this, together with our partners—the ASTRA Sibiu County Library—we have decided to celebrate National Reading Day over the course of an entire week. We will engage in dialogue with public institutions, schools, high schools, the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, the ‘Nicolae Bălcescu’ Land Forces Academy in Sibiu, and with all structures where there is openness to read together. We wish to enjoy this dialogue!”, said Constantin Chiriac.
