August Premieres on Digital Stage

Digital Stage, the online platform for theatre, film, music, circus, and dance of the Radu Stanca National Theatre Sibiu (TNRS) and the Sibiu International Theatre Festival (FITS), brings audiences three premieres in August.

“Digital Stage continues to bring art closer to our audiences, wherever they may be. Two of the August premieres are among the most acclaimed events of this year’s FITS edition: the Stradivarius International Tour 2025 – RHAPSODIES and 11 Warriors by Jackie Chan’s Long Yun Kung Fu Troupe, alongside the TNRS production The Last Generation. This is how we give those who were unable to purchase tickets during the Festival the chance to see these three outstanding creations”, said Constantin Chiriac, General Manager of TNRS and President of FITS.

The August premieres on Digital Stage are:

1. FITS Opening Concert – Rhapsodies
The Stradivarius International Tour 2025 – RHAPSODIES, 18th edition, is a classical music project curated by violinist Alexandru Tomescu, who performs on the celebrated Stradivarius Elder-Voicu violin. His guest is guitarist Dragoș Ilie.
The program includes rhapsodies by Enescu and Gershwin, presented in a special version—transcriptions for violin and classical guitar by Dragoș Ilie.

2. 11 Warriors, by Jackie Chan’s Long Yun Kung Fu Troupe, directed by Hu Mingwu – a performance received with ovations at FITS
11 Warriors conveys the fundamental values of Chinese culture through Chinese kung fu physical performances, while also expressing the artistic beauty of the human body.
The production is structured in five chapters, elaborating the original essence of martial arts through five themes: Weapon, Soul, Master, Silence, and Celebration. It has a strong philosophical, artistic, and ornamental character. A film not to be missed.

3. The Last Generation, a TNRS production, directed by Tudor Licu
Eight young actors, led by a debut director, present an anthology performance composed of texts by six authors from the youngest generation of Romanian playwrights.
Each script imagines a possible end of humanity, exploring the impact of the direction in which the world is heading on the course of our lives.
The Last Generation is a revolt of young people against a world in decline—a revolt as a manifesto, as a creative act envisioning new possible realities.
A landmark performance of the young generation, presented within the Manifest for Dialogue national program.
