"Manifest for Dialogue" has chosen its winners. Tudor Licu is staging at the Sibiu National Theatre

"Radu Stanca" National Theatre in Sibiu (TNRS) announces the winners of the Manifest for Dialogue directing project competition: the directors Tudor Licu, Alin Uberti and Anamaria Țîrlea will be staging at the National Theatre. TNRS, in partnership with the Advanced Research Centre for Studies in the Field of Performing Arts and the Drama and Theatre Studies Department of the Faculty of Letters and Arts (the "Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu - ULBS), launched in August a project competition for directors aged between 21 and 30.
As a result of this call, TNRS received 17 projects signed by eight female directors and nine male directors of the young generation.
"The 17 projects in the competition compose the portrait of a generation that will have an important voice in the Romanian theatrical landscape, and we believe also in the international landscape. Since it was difficult for us to choose just one project, we have chosen three projects that will be staged at the "Radu Stanca" National Theatre in Sibiu: Tudor Licu (this season, October - November), Alin Uberti and Anamaria Țîrlea during next season", says Constantin Chiriac, general manager of the TNRS.
We consulted the directors Bogdan Georgescu, Eugen Jebeleanu, Alexandra Badea, Andrei and Andreea Grosu and Bobi Pricop when choosing the winning projects.
Manifest for Dialogue is a program that started in 2015.
The program aims, on the one hand, to encourage critical thinking by tackling important topics that are too little discussed in the Romanian theatrical landscape and, on the other hand, to contribute to the development of the new audience, an active, involved audience that, alongside the artists, triggers and sustains a lively debate. This program was developed together with the directors Bogdan Georgescu, Eugen Jebeleanu, Alexandra Badea, Andrei and Andreea Grosu.
The continuation of the program pursues a third direction: supporting the debut in theatrical art. Specifically, the project involves the creation of a theatrical performance, based on a dramatic text written especially for the project, by a young team consisting of a director, playwright, scenographer, actors of the “Radu Stanca” National Theatre in Sibiu and students of the Drama and Theatre Studies Department of the Faculty of Letters and Arts of ULBS and the realization of a national tour.
The project and the Manifest for Dialogue tour are supported by BRD Groupe Société Générale. The Manifest for Dialogue project will continue in the coming years.
