TNRS and FITS at the Francophonie Summit

The project "Poetic Consultations" realized by the Sibiu International Theatre Festival (FITS) and the "Radu Stanca" National Theatre in Sibiu (TNRS), in collaboration with Théâtre de la Ville in Paris, Teatro della Pergola in Florence, will be presented on October 3 and 4 during the Francophonie Summit. The event will take place at the CENTQUATRE in Paris, an architectural space dedicated to innovation and creation, which will host a variety of cultural and artistic events, with an area of 2000 square meters.
The actresses of the Sibiu National Theatre, Mariana Mihu-Plier and Raluca Iani, will provide the French public a series of "Poetic Consultations". A poetic consultation is a 20-minute one-to-one conversation with an artist. It begins with a simple question: "How are you?" Based on the answer, a poem, a piece of dance, or a piece of music is selected and performed by the artist who will read or performed it.
The project aims to bring theatre and theatrical activities closer to the citizens and to contribute through culture to the care and image of the city for its inhabitants and visitors. A way to connect internal and external spaces: theatre, public squares, and unusual places in the city.
The Sibiu delegation to Paris will be led by Constantin Chiriac, President of FITSF and General Manager of TNRS, together with Vicențiu Rahău, FITSF's indoor section selector and coordinator, who will participate in a series of meetings and conferences during the event.
In France, Romania will highlight its major international music, performing arts and film festivals. Under the theme "La Roumanie, j'en ai envie!", Romania will show how collaboration between artists, cultural and educational institutions and authorities in French-speaking countries can transform art and culture into essential tools for improving and diversifying the world. The featured festivals and events will highlight francophone solidarity and its contribution to creating a vibrant and diverse culture.
